What to look for in a Real Estate Agent...

should be in professional attire and conduct himself/herself in a professional manner.
must have an active license in your state. Check your state government's website to confirm that an agent has an active license.
should earn your confidence that he/she will work in your best interest.
should be able to clearly explain the various forms of the agent-client relationship so that you can choose the right one for your needs.
must be a good communicator, which begins with timely returning your phone calls and extends to dealings with inspectors, other agents, etc.
should display that he/she is familiar with the area where the property is located.
